Silverstone Auctions have appointed a new Sales Director, Rob Hubbard. Rob, who has an enviable pedigree in the specialist automotive auction industry, most notably with Bonhams, joins the company from 1st March. Rob will work closely with the existing management team and founder Nick Whale to lead the continued growth of Silverstone Auctions, both in the physical and digital arenas.
Rob will be overseeing a packed 2022 calendar for the Silverstone Auctions Group, which has already had a strong start with great success at their first stand-alone motorcycle auction at the Carol Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show on 12th February. Swiftly following is the first car sale of 2022, the Season Opener on 5th and 6th March, at RAF Museum London. This is the premiere of an annual residence at the venue and will see Silverstone Auctions making sales surrounded by the incredible historic aircraft that comprise the museum collection. Buyers and sellers will not only be able to experience the thrill of the live auction, but also enjoy the museum experience in full.
A further auction with MCN at the Festival of Motorcycling in May is followed by the Supercar Fest Sale and the partnership is an exciting development for the brand, adding a contemporary sales opportunity alongside the company’s unrivalled best-of-breed classic vehicle sales. Silverstone Auctions will bring over 120 vehicles to the sale, holding the live auction during the event weekend.
Silverstone Auctions will follow the new sales with a Sale of Ferraris, in association with the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain, plus the annual auctions at the Silverstone Classic event and the NEC Classic Car Show.
Silverstone Auctions Group founder Nick Whale comments:
“It is incredible to start 2022 with such energy and impact. We had a great end to 2021 with our NEC Classic and Riyadh sales, and announcing the new additions to our calendar for this year is very exciting. We are pleased to be working with MCN and the Motorcycle Shows provide a focal point for our live motorcycle auctions. To then have a new sale in a new venue, reaching out to our London audience, is a really strong step for us, and I am delighted to have Rob joining the leadership team of the business. I have known Rob for a number of years and admire the work he has done in the industry. He will add yet another layer of energy and expertise to the business as we continue to deliver the quality and service that Silverstone Auctions is known for.”
Rob Hubbard, Silverstone Auctions new Sales Director, said:
“I am delighted to be joining the Silverstone Auctions team. It is rare to have the opportunity to join an industry-leading brand at the top of their game, and I think the new sales announced for this year just show where the company is going. Physical auctions are really special – the opportunity to see what you are buying in the metal and the thrill of the chase cannot be matched. To pair this with the new Silverstone Digital Auctions platform means we have a solution for every buyer or seller. I am excited to manage the continued growth and success of the brand, and bring new areas of the market to the company.”
Consignment entries for the Peterborough Festival of Motorcycling, Supercar Fest and Ferrari Owners Club sales are now open. Parties interested in consigning for the auctions should visit www.silverstoneauctions.com or call 01926 691141.
