The Access to Justice Foundation
“For a society where everyone has access to justice”.
The Access to Justice Foundation increases the support available to vulnerable people requiring access to the legal system through strategic grant making and supporting the advice sector.
The Foundation believes everyone should have access to justice, yet two thirds of the UK population don’t know how to get legal advice and there are still 14 million people who live in poverty and can’t afford it.
A lack of access to justice leads to issues of poverty, homelessness, ill health, unemployment, broken households, and many other social and personal difficulties.
Four ways your firm can support access to justice
Remember A Charity
Remember A Charity is a consortium of 200 UK charities, working together with partners across the legal sector to inspire people to consider leaving gifts to charity in their Wills.
More than 800 solicitor firms and legal advisors are signed up to our free Campaign Supporter scheme, committing to making their Will-writing clients aware of the charitable option available, and providing impartial information about how they can support good causes as well as loved ones in their Wills.
In exchange, Campaign Supporters receive free resources, template news items and imagery for supporters, the opportunity to take part in our national annual awareness week, and a listing on our public directory of solicitors and Will-writers – all of which serve to promote their Will-writing services and help get client conversations about charitable estates started.
