Legal and professional services firm Knights has completed acquisition of Langleys Solicitors of York and Lincoln, in a deal worth £11.5 million.
As one of the most well-known and substantial legal practices in York, Knights says the acquisition of Langleys will provide it with “a platform to realise the opportunity of the York legal market and expansion to its East Midlands presence with the addition of its Lincoln office”.
The completion of Langleys, alongside Kinights’ recent acquisition of Archers in Teesside and continued recruitment of Partners across its operations, is part of Knights’ plan to grow its position significantly in key regional markets outside London.
Through acquisitions and organic growth, the firm is now one of the largest legal and professional services businesses outside London, operating across 18 office locations and supported by over 1350 colleagues.
James Sheridan, Client Services Director at Knights commented:
“We are thrilled to have completed our acquisition of Langleys and we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues to Knights. We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues to continue their great work of the last few years in building a dominant position in Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
Our focus over the coming weeks will be to fully integrate our new colleagues into Knights and introduce them to our specialist teams and resources to enhance and broaden the services they can offer to their clients and the market in general. We see huge opportunity for growth in Yorkshire and more broadly the North East. We are keen to engage with the leading professionals in the market as we look to recruit into the business to enhance our already strong offering to clients and colleagues.”
