Premier Solicitors expands with acquisition of Chambers & McClay.
Premier Solicitors say the acquisition represents another step forward in their continued commitment to delivering exceptional probate and estate administration services to clients across the country.
Chief Revenue Officer, David Masterton said: “We’re thrilled to complete another significant acquisition this year, which complements our strategic development and is perfectly aligned with our core business objectives.
“This brings a substantial client database and a significant volume of stored wills, which directly supports our strategy to enhance and increase the flow of probate and estate administration instructions into the firm. This in turn supports our customers and firm through our wider full-service law firm capability.
Forbes McClay, Chambers & McClay founder and director commented: “When we began looking for the right firm to take on our clients, I wanted somewhere that would look after them as carefully as we always have.
“Premier Solicitors met that test from the outset. As a law firm offering a complete range of legal services, it gives our clients real peace of mind, backed by the expertise and resources they are entitled to expect.
“I am delighted to be passing our clients into the care of people who share our values, and I will be working closely with the Premier team over the coming months to make the move as smooth as possible for every one of them. I have no doubt this is the right outcome for our clients, our business, and Premier alike.”
ELM Legal Services celebrates being more than £1.1m ahead of last year’s total for legacy gifts in Wills
ELM Legal Services drafted £3.9m in legacy gifts into clients’ Wills between January and September 2026, compared with £2.8m across the whole of 2025.
Jim Emsley, managing director at the firm, said: “We’ve seen a noticeable change this year in how clients approach charitable giving. More people are asking how a gift to charity could benefit their estate, and many are surprised to learn that it can reduce the Inheritance Tax bill as well as supporting a cause they care about.
“For some clients, leaving 10% or more of their estate to charity lowers the rate of tax on the rest of it, so they can support causes they care about while more of what they leave goes where they intend.”
Amber Scales, head of fundraising and communications (maternity) at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre, said: “Gifts in Wills are vital to Bristol A.R.C., providing a lifeline that helps us rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome hundreds of vulnerable animals across Bristol each year.
“We are immensely grateful to ELM Legal Services for their partnership and support; by helping our supporters navigate legacy giving with ease and care, they ensure we can continue being there for animals in need for years to come.”
Jurit has appointed client dual-qualified lawyer Nicole Gallop Mildon as a consultant in its private wealth & tax team.
Nicole brings almost 30 years’ experience advising individuals and families on complex private client matters, with the rare distinction of being qualified in both England & Wales and France.

Nicole advises clients on wills, estate planning, succession, probate, mental capacity, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and the ownership, inheritance and disposal of French property.
She is particularly experienced in helping British nationals with assets in France understand the differences between the two legal systems and avoid potential difficulties when planning for the future.
Nicole, diplômée notaire, commented: “Very few lawyers are qualified to advise from both an English and French legal perspective, and that has shaped my career for almost three decades.
“Families are increasingly international, but succession, property ownership and incapacity laws can differ significantly between countries. Helping clients navigate those differences is both intellectually fascinating and incredibly rewarding.”
Robert Marcus, founding partner at Jurit, concluded: “We are delighted to welcome Nicole to Jurit. Her dual qualification together with the experience she brings, strengthens our ability to support individuals and families with increasingly complex wealth and succession planning needs even further.”
