CTT Group raises £10,000 for Ukraine Crisis Appeal with Midnight Walking Marathon

For those in estate planning and professional advisor communities, it’s unusual to be heading to work for midnight let alone in activewear. Yet that’s precisely what 27 staff members from CTT Group found themselves doing on Friday 24th June.

The dedicated team set out from CTT’s offices at Gables House, Leamington Spa for a Midnight Walking Marathon in aid of the Ukraine Crisis Appeal run by the British Red Cross.

The idea to walk 26.2 miles – the distance of a full marathon – originated with Amy O’Keeffe, Director of CTT Accountancy, and Lucy Miles, Practice Manager of Private Client. Amy explained that the inspiration came to them “after constantly hearing about the horror unfolding in Ukraine via the news and of course, Kinga here at CTT”.

Kinga Musialik, a long-time CTT employee and a valued Private Client Advisor, visited Poland where she met Ukrainian refugees. She reported back to her colleagues on their heart-breaking stories of the horrors they and their family members still in the Ukraine had experienced. Everyone at CTT Group was inspired to do all they could to help. O’Keeffe commented:

“We originally expected to be walking the midnight marathon just myself and Lucy. We did not expect to have 25 people wanting to join us which was really encouraging and motivating. What a good job it was that we did have the others join us as it was definitely the team spirit and positive attitude all around which kept us going!”

Many breaks and blister plasters may have been needed but it has all been worth it with a staggering £10,000 being raised for such an important cause. All at CTT Group are incredibly proud of the team’s achievement and hugely thankful for all of the generous donations.

Amy and Lucy are “so pleased with the result and feel proud that we managed to achieve what we set out to do. We know British Red Cross will use the funds to best support Ukraine and hopefully make a difference”.
