British Wills and Probate Awards 2024 – Shortlist Coming Monday

The shortlist for the British Wills and Probate, sponsored by CTT Group, is being released from Monday 19th August with a handful of categories published each day exclusively on Today’s Wills and Probate, culminating in the publication of the full list on Friday 23rd August. Following a record number of entries and huge interest in the awards, the shortlists reveal the firms, businesses and individuals who have made their mark on the Wills and probate sector over the last 12 months.

Starting Monday 19th August, a selection of categories will be published each day at 9am with successful firms and individuals being provided with a range of digital assets and PR to be used on websites, emails, newsletters and social media to help them make the most of their success. The winners will be announced live at The British Wills and Probate Awards which is hosted on 10th October 2024 at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester and simultaneously live streamed via the British Wills and Probate Awards website. Tickets for the awards are available now via www.britishwillsandprobateawards.co.uk.

The British Wills and Probate Awards were introduced in 2018 to recognise and celebrate excellence across the Wills and probate community. Much like the Today’s Wills and Probate publication, the awards champions both the regulated solicitor and unregulated will writing communities, bringing them together and fostering a spirit of mutual respect. In its seventh year, organisers Today’s Media, the publishers of Today’s Wills and Probate, have refreshed many of the categories and criteria and introduced a number of new for 2024 categories to ensure The British Wills and Probate Awards remains as relevant now as it was in 2018.

2024 also sees the launch of a hugely important new category; “Wills and Probate Excellence,” sponsored by Arken.legal. The award, which replaces the “Today’s Wills and Probate Industry Champion” is a category into which all the estate planning and solicitor categories will be entered with the judges selecting the standout submission and firms as the winner.

“With so many talented practitioners in the field, the judges have a tough job on their hands. 2024 has been an exciting year for the sector and will certainly make for an interesting competition.”

says Headline Sponsor and CTT Group Director of Partnerships, Jonathan Maskew, adding

“It’s an honour to once again be headline sponsors for the event and I for one am eager to learn who the main contenders will be! As this year’s event draw closer, it’s a tense time – waiting to find out who will make the shortlist, which will be announced from Monday!”

The judges have been effusive in their praise for the submissions in 2024. Commenting on the quality of the submissions and how the awards have progressed Alex Holt Chief Revenue Officer at Cashroom and long-standing judge for the awards says

“Submissions have steadily improved, not only in relation to the stories they tell of increased innovation and process improvement, but also more simply in the quality of the submissions themselves. Their responses are supported with evidence rather than just statements, and they actually answer the questions! From an innovation perspective it has been fascinating and reassuring to see firms with truly innovative methods and ideas, rather than, several years ago, judging submissions where innovation might have meant ‘we use a Practice Management System!'”

adding the awards have established themselves as ‘a true quality endorsement’ in an increasingly competitive market.

The shortlist for the British Wills and Probate Awards 2024 will be published on Today’s Wills and Probate throughout next week and on the British Wills and Probate Awards website. Keep an eye out on www.todayswillsandprobate.co.uk for all the updates.
