HM Courts and Tribunals Service has introduced a new probate application escalation process for cases that haven’t been resolved after 12 weeks.

The process also provides an additional route for cases that have already been queried but require further investigation.

The escalation route aims to improve visibility of outstanding applications and ensure delayed cases can be reviewed and progressed more effectively.

Before submitting the form, customers must have requested a case progression update and allowed at least 10 working days for a response after each request.

Applicants who have already responded to a request for information should allow six weeks for a response before seeking an update.

Case progression update requests and responses can be sent to contactprobate@justice.gov.uk
