It could take a full day, or longer, to complete the IHT400 form, in addition to the supplementary forms. “However, the automation of the IHT400 form has been the biggest time saver. Previously, this had to be completed manually from scratch, with details then carried across to the supplementary forms too. Any amendments, for example, when completing the IHT435 claim form for the Nil Rate Band, requires us to ensure we were using the correct figures from the IHT400. Now, any updates following asset confirmation are automatically reflected across the entire IHT400 and all supplementary forms. This saves us a huge amount of time and allows us to focus more on supporting our clients and delivering the personal service we pride ourselves on.
