Will Aid – become a part of something great this November.

1st of November sees the official start of Will Aid, 30 years old this year, the scheme is in the public psyche with advocates such as Judi Dench, Graham Norton and Money Expert Martin Lewis all backing the worthy endeavor for Private Client solicitors and public alike.  You may have even seen Martin on Good Morning Britain talking about it!

With a final push for sign-ups Will Aid is encouraging solicitors across the UK to get involved.

Firms can make their mark and meet with old and new clients through this innovative scheme created 30 years ago. Did you know that the demand for charitable giving through Will Aid is currently exceeding the industry’s ability to provide this service? Will Aid really needs more firms – there is a plea to recruit more solicitors, based on previous years there has been so many enquiries from people wanting Wills and this demand has simply not been able to be met. Will Aid do not want this to happen again – it wants its 30thAnniversary year to be the best yet.

Campaign Director Peter de Vena Franks is passionate in his plea for more firms to engage:

‘We really want to encourage all Solicitors in the Private Client arena to engage with the Will Aid scheme and enjoy the benefits that come with it alongside being able to offer a brilliant opportunity to clients old and new. We are especially seeing demand across the Home Counties, London, and the South West, there are client’s waiting for solicitors to engage in our scheme – we just need more to sign up to respond to the demand! As this is our 30thyear, I personally would love to see us better last years’ numbers and raise even more vital funds for the life-changing work of the nine Will Aid charities.’

Believed to be the largest campaign of its kind in the UK it is an annual fundraising campaign involving nine of the UK’s leading charities. With the support of solicitors who donate their skills, Will Aid encourages people, through effective PR and through its website, to have their Will drafted by a professional solicitor whilst at the same time supporting charity – this could be you and your firm.

Make your mark locally, and be the firm that joins a club which has been going since 1988 – the year of Live Aid and big hair! Over the past three decades, Will Aid has enabled the legal profession to raise over £20 million for good causes. The Will Aid charities all work with the most vulnerable people in the UK and around the world, so that sum of money will have improved countless lives.  You can find out more about the great work the Will Aid charities do by following this link.

In this time, Will Aid has encouraged and helped more than 300,000 people to make their Wills.  By writing their Wills, these people may have spared their family the distress of coping with legal complications as well as losing a loved one. As a provider of Private Client services, your firm and its fee earners will always know that putting a client’s needs first is paramount – Will Aid allows you to introduce new clients to all that your firm can offer – not just a Will.

The nitty gritty?  It is so simple – participating solicitors draw up a basic Will for clients without charging the usual fee. Instead, Solicitors and firms invite their clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid.  The suggested donation level is £95 for a basic single Will or £150 for basic mirror Wills.  Donations support the vital work of the nine Will Aid charities to help people in need in the UK and around the world.
