TPR Seeks £250,000 From Pension Fraud

TPR Seek £250,000 From Convicted Pension Fraudster

Last week, Patrick McLarry from Devon went to court as The Pensions Regulator (TPR) sought a confiscation order from the charity trustee for £250,000.

Previously Mr McLarry was handed a five year custodial sentence after he admitted the transfer of £250,000 from the pension scheme of Yately Industries for the Disabled – where he was the Chief Executive and Chairman – into a personal account in November 2019.

He was also Director of VerdePlanet Limited, the corporate trustee of the charity’s pension.

During the previous court case, it was revealed that Mr McLarry and his wife spent the money on paying off personal debts and purchasing homes both in France and the UK.
