The Wills & Probate Conference returns to Leeds in March

The Wills & Probate Conference will return to Leeds for the third time in March, with organisers promising the biggest and most comprehensive conference yet.

The event will be staged in the city’s Hilton Hotel on the 12th March, bringing together industry experts to explore managing risk and compliance in the wills and probate sector.

Key issues to be explored include major tax planning impacts following the budget; the transformative ‘Will Bill’, including electronic wills, revised capacity tests and updated challenge procedures; uncertainty following Mazur and the future scope of work for practitioners; potential restriction on client accounts; and the upcoming pension changes and their implications for inheritance tax.

“These challenges highlight the need for professionals to stay informed, agile and compliant,” organisers said. “The 2026 conference brings together the experts to help them do exactly that.”

Confirmed speakers include Helen Forster, managing director of HTF Legal and trainer in the private client sector, with a session focusing on the Will Bill and digital wills, and contentious probate specialist Leighan Banks, who will discuss the risks involved in executor and trustee disputes.

Barrister John Waiting from Exchange Chambers will offer insight into trust management pitfalls and litigation risks, and Dominic Hendry, private client genealogy lead at Estate Research, will lead a session entitled Beware of the Beneficiary.

Matthew Wright, an independent financial adviser with over 20 years of financial service expertise, will discuss developments in pensions and inheritance tax.

The conference will be followed by an evening quiz and free networking social, which non-delegates are welcome to attend.

Early Bird tickets are available now at £65.18 (including tax and booking fee), including a full day of CPD, a two-course buffet lunch, expert-led sessions, and structured networking.
