Stonewall names SRA as one of Britain’s top 30 LGBT-inclusive employers

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is named as one of the most inclusive employers in Britain by lesbian, gay, bi and trans equality charity Stonewall in its Top Employers list for 2022. The SRA is placed 28th on this year’s list, up from 93 in 2020.

As part of the Top 100, Stonewall collects more than 109,000 anonymous responses from employees on their experience of Britain’s workplace culture and diversity.

Highlights of the SRA’s achievements include:

  • Updating our approach to diversity monitoring for our staff, for the profession and for aspiring solicitors on sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
  • Organising a wide range of events for staff to celebrate the LGBTQ+ calendar.
  • Promoting the work of our Allies to promote our inclusive culture.
  • Working with partners and suppliers to promote our values.
  • Reviewing our good practice guide for firms on trans and non-binary inclusion.

Paul Philip, SRA Chief Executive, said:

We are pleased that our work to promote LGBT inclusion both in the profession and within our organisation has been recognised by Stonewall and that we can count ourselves in the Top 30 employers in the country.

This reflects the importance of a diverse and inclusive legal sector, meeting the needs of people from every community.”
