STEP announces 2024 Private Client Awards winners

STEP announced the winners of the 2024 Private Client Awards last night during a ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Broadcaster and author Susie Dent hosted the awards. STEP’s Private Client Awards, now in their 19th year, said that they set the standard for excellence in private client practice. They are open to lawyers, accountants, private bankers, financial advisors and trust managers worldwide.

This year saw a record number of entries, with 373 submissions. The full list of winners is available here: https://pca.step.org/winners-2024. Commenting on the awards, Mark Walley, Chief Executive at STEP, said:

“Many congratulations to the winners. The STEP Private Client Awards celebrate the very best of the best. It is a real achievement to be chosen as a winner.

The judges tell us that several categories were very close, and each one received entries that should inspire everyone working in private client practice. Particular congratulations go to Forsters, who won awards for Digital Assets Practice of the Year and Private Client Legal Team of the Year (large firm), with Partner Nick Jacob TEP also taking the coveted Trusted Advisor award. Congratulations also go to Stonehage Fleming, who won two awards: Multi-Family Office Team of the Year and Financial Advisor Team of the Year.”

Other winners include:

  • Elisabeth Squires of Britton and Time Solicitors, who won the Rising Star Award; and
  • Nicholas Le Poidevin KC TEP of New Square Chambers, who won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Stella Mitchell-Voisin TEP, Chair of the judging panel and CEO of Summit Trust International, said:

“The STEP Private Client Awards provide an annual opportunity to celebrate the talent and achievements of the best in our field.

Some of the themes that stood out for us this year have been related to creating the working cultures where colleagues can thrive and provide the best possible service to clients, alongside exciting innovations, particularly in the AI space.

It has been a privilege to read all the entries and see the breadth and depth of what has been achieved.”

They ask entrants to donate to our charity partner for the awards, which is Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI). ADI is the international federation of Alzheimer and dementia associations around the world.  They are delighted to have raised GBP£53,244 for ADI’s important work.

Their award sponsors were: Evelyn Partners; Katten; Loeb & Loeb; Penningtons Manches Cooper, Plianz; Provira and Rathbones.
