“State of the Nation” Summit returns in May

An evening designed to foster discussion and debate on the current opportunities and challenges facing the will writing, probate, tax, trusts and estate planning community returns on 8th May following its successful return in 2023. Tickets are available to purchase via the links below.

The Today’s Wills and Probate “State of the Nation” summit brought practitioners from around the community together to  share their views on the current state of play across wills and probate. First hosted in March 2020 in London, attendees could not have foreseen the turmoil to follow as weeks after, the country was plunged into lockdown in response to rising COVID-19 cases.

The decision to resurrect the format, with an evening dinner followed by discussion and networking, was borne out of the desire for Today’s Media, the publishers of Today’s Wills and Probate to

“bring our community or readers together to discuss their challenges and ambitions for this fantastic industry. Through Today’s Wills and Probate we’re reporting on news, insight, regulatory updates and best practice but there’s nothing quite like bringing those who work at the coal face together. Our experience of running events like this is that people find they are having similar challenges and there is a spirit of collaboration and cooperation in providing support for one another.”

said Managing Director David Opie in 2023.

The 2024 Summit takes place on 8th May at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham. The discussion will run under Chatham House rule with topics last year including regulation, training, technology and artificial intelligence, and probate delays. The topic outline is yet to be finalised, and will also be dictated by discussion on the night. Tickets are available to purchase now for £129 +VAT.
