The Society of Will Writers (SWW) have announced their annual conference will this year be held at The Abbey Hotel in Redditch and will maintain the traditional two day structure as with previous years.
The 2015 conference, which is being held on 5th and 6th October, is particularly significant for the Society, as this year they are celebrating their 21st anniversary. This has led to the SWW seeking a great scope of specialists within the will writing industry, in order to provide attendees with a group of high level speakers to engage with, as well as a worthwhile and exciting event to attend.
As well as some well-known individuals within the SWW, including Mike Smith, Craig Ward, and James Greenwood, this year’s speakers feature some new faces taking part in the conference, including:
James Kessler — a leading tax barrister who was appointed Queen’s Counsel (QC) in 2003. He is also one of the founders of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has written a number of books on trusts and taxation.
Martin Holdsworth — a solicitor who heads a team specialising entirely in resolving probate and trust disputes, and has over 20 years’ experience within the sector. Not only is Martin listed within the Legal 500 as one of just three top specialists in his field outside of London, he is also an active member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) committee.
Topics that will be covered by the speakers include an in-depth look into will claims and significant cases that have arisen; as well as covering key issues, common mistakes that are made, and guidance on how to improve your business.
The Society are also pleased to welcome back Derek Forbes as master of ceremony, who was involved in organising the first set of conferences.
