Second iteration of IDRN makes debut

Following the debut of their referral and support network back in February, IDR Law have relaunched the IDR Network (IDRN) after an extensive research project that explored how their members were using and engaging with the content.

The completely free resource is now an intuitive space providing everything you need as a legal practitioner if a contentious case lands on your desk, quickly and easily. You’ll also find general resources, guides, and commentary for non-contentious browsing in their knowledgebase with the handy new search tool.

As contentious probate specialists, it was a no-brainer for IDR Law to create this site. It brings together everything IDR Law have to offer under one “virtual roof”, and everything is created by their team of contentious probate specialists.

Who’s it for?

Anyone working in the wills and probate sector, including:

  • Law firms
  • IFAs
  • Accountants
  • Will writers
  • Probate admin companies
  • Charities (Legacy)

What’s new?

Triage

The triage area covers the most commonly occurring contentious situations IDR Law deal with. It includes everything you can possibly need to know if one of these types of cases lands on your desk.

What’s in there?

The four issues

  1. Disappointed beneficiary, the 1975 Act
  2. Caveats and Larke vs Nugus requests
  3. Executors can’t agree
  4. Charity – Will legacy challenges

How to handle them

  • Overview of the situation
  • Quick step-by-step guide of how to approach it
  • Dedicated factsheets to pass to clients
  • Relevant case studies/commentaries and FAQs

Knowledgebase

  • A content hub for anyone working in wills and probate, structured perfectly to find the information you need
  • Full to the brim of FAQs, factsheets, case studies, commentaries, and training material designed to assist you when it comes to dealing with contentious matters, professional development, or for non-contentious browsing
  • Detailing pretty much everything from general content on estate administration to factsheets on individual claims under the 1975 Act, will dispute case studies, burial dispute commentary, and plenty more

CPD & training

Contentious probate is a niche area of the law and IDR believe education and knowledge in the area is essential. The CPD section offers webinars and training sessions hosted by the team at IDR Law and other experts in the field.

Refer a client

Got a client who is trying to navigate an inheritance dispute? The IDRN has a dedicated “refer a client” area with a fast-track form where you can add lots of detail around the case. Their client relations team will be back in touch with your client within 24 hours to access their situation.

“As our referral network grew, we could see that we needed to make everything we had to offer available all of the time,” said Martin Holdsworth, Founder of IDR Law, adding “the IDRN provides all of that direct help in one space.”

Holdsworth went on to say the free-to-access IDRN v2 is a “fantastic update” creating a “much more intuitive support tool” for IDR’s network of supporters and referrers.

Dedicated charity area

Fundraising is hard at the best of times and losing a legacy as a result of a successful will challenge can be devastating. In this section, IDR guide Legacy Managers through responding to these claims with a firm but fair approach.

There is also the “BIG Charity” quiz you can have a bash at – prizes to be won!
