What was your career path to your current role?

I’ve been in the housing industry for 30 years, starting as an estate agent, which gave me a solid foundation in property sales and customer service. I then moved into the part-exchange and assisted move sector, working closely with house builders and buyers to make the moving process as smooth as possible.

In 2010, I launched my own company supporting housebuilders, and in 2014, after a conveyancing solicitor asked me to help sell a probate property, I founded Property Solutions Group. Over the years, I’ve built extensive industry experience and long-standing relationships, always focused on delivering a seamless and supportive service to clients.

Did you have any other career ambitions?

No, I’ve always loved what I do. I’ve really enjoyed working in the housing marketplace and finding ways to bring new innovations to the sector. It’s a dynamic industry, and being able to make processes easier for clients and buyers has always been very rewarding for me.

What keeps you motivated in your work?

What keeps me motivated is expanding the business, but more importantly, supporting my team and watching them grow and succeed. I really enjoy mentoring and empowering people, seeing them develop their skills, take on new challenges, and achieve their goals, it’s incredibly rewarding.

What has been the best development in wills and probate in the last 20 years?

One of the biggest developments in wills and probate over the last 20 years has been how specialist support services have evolved to make the process far more structured and efficient for executors, personal representatives and legal professionals. Digital solutions and tailored property related services have helped reduce delays, improve compliance and take the burden off bereaved families and lawyers alike.

And the worst?

One of the more challenging aspects over the last 20 years has been the delays that can still occur with HMRC. Even with improvements in wills and probate, these delays can slow the process for everyone involved.

What’s the best piece of advice anyone ever gave you regarding your career?

Focus on relationships, not just transactions, and do what you said you were going to do.

What advice would you like to give to someone just starting out?

Always trust your gut.

In property, numbers and research are essential, but your instincts often guide you in negotiations, client interactions, and spotting opportunities that aren’t obvious on paper. Learning to trust your intuition – while still backing it up with knowledge – can help you make decisions confidently and stand out as a professional.

Tell us something people may be surprised to know about you…

People might be surprised to know I love seeing properties that others write off and bringing them back to life – it’s like giving a building a second chance.

Also, I had a pet pig called Sammy when I was growing up!
