Premier Solicitors in Bedford has achieved the accolade of the highest donating firm to Will Aid this year, raising £63,725 for the longstanding will-awareness campaign.
Will Aid has been running since 1988 and raises money for seven of the UK’s largest charities. The campaign has encouraged hundreds of thousands of people to write their Will with a regulated and insured solicitor and in doing so has raised more than £24 million in donations, and many millions more in pledged legacies. The suggested voluntary donation is £100 for a single Will and £180 for a pair of mirror Wills.
As a supporter since 2004, Premier Solicitors have raised £163,572 in total by inviting clients to make a donation to Will Aid in lieu of paying for their will through the firm. The funds raised go to Will Aid’s partner charities, which support a range of important causes, from providing humanitarian aid to protecting vulnerable children here in the UK.
“Will Aid is a fantastic initiative, and we’re thrilled to have helped so many people put their affairs in order while raising such a substantial amount for charity. It’s a real team effort, and we’re incredibly proud to have made such an impact this year.”
said Sunil Kambli of Premier Solicitors, adding
“Being part of this campaign is always a rewarding experience, but knowing we’ve achieved the highest total in the UK this year makes it even more special. The money raised will make a real difference to people in need, both here at home and around the world.”
Will Aid has riased more than £24m since 1988 with millions more pledged in charitable legacies. Thanking the generosity of participating solicitors Lauren Poole, Chair of Will Aid said
“A huge congratulations to the team at Premier Solicitors for raising such an incredible amount this year. It’s inspiring to see so many solicitors giving their time and expertise to support our partner charities while helping people secure the peace of mind that comes with a professionally written Will.”
Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid’s Campaign Director, added:
“This year’s Will Aid campaign has been another tremendous success, and it’s all down to the dedication of solicitors like those at Premier Solicitors. Their generosity and hard work are truly making a difference, not only for their clients but also for the charities that rely on these vital donations.”
Will Aid returns in November offering people the opportunity to have a professionally written Will in exchange for a donation with all proceeds supporting Will Aid’s partner charities: Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, and Trócaire.
