Premier Solicitors is pleased to announce the launch of a new weekly remote seminar series designed exclusively for work referrers. The Contentious Probate Clinic will provide an accessible platform for professionals to engage with specialist solicitors and deepen their understanding of contentious probate matters.
A New Opportunity for Professional Development
These interactive Teams sessions offer work referrers a unique opportunity to discuss all aspects of contentious probate in a supportive environment. Contentious probate involves disputes that arise after someone’s death or during estate administration, including disagreements over Will validity, interpretation, and asset distribution. Topics covered in the clinic will range from understanding how the work referral scheme operates to exploring case processes in greater detail and gaining insight into the team’s extensive experience in handling these complex matters.
Each week, a member of Premier Solicitors’ specialist contentious probate team will lead the discussion, ensuring that sessions remain practical, engaging, and informative. Whether attendees are new to making referrals or have long-standing relationships with the firm, these seminars provide an ideal forum to connect with experts, share experiences, and strengthen professional collaboration.
Understanding Contentious Probate
Contentious probate cases can encompass a wide range of disputes. These commonly include challenges to Will validity based on concerns about mental capacity or undue influence, disagreements between beneficiaries and executors over estate administration, claims under the Inheritance Act 1975 for reasonable financial provision, and disputes arising from ambiguous Will terms or intestacy situations.
As Senior Solicitor & Contentious Probate Manager Pauline Lyons notes, these disputes can be particularly distressing for families already coping with loss. The clinic sessions will help referrers understand the potential causes of such conflicts and the legal remedies available, ensuring they can better support their clients and make informed referral decisions.
Convenient and Accessible Format
The remote format has been carefully designed with busy professionals in mind. Sessions will be held every Thursday from 11:00am to 11:20am via Microsoft Teams, allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own desks without the need for travel.
Sessions take place every Thursday, with the next clinic scheduled for 4 December 2025.
How to Join
Teams invitations have been distributed to all eligible work referrers. Those who have not received an invitation or are experiencing any difficulties accessing the link are encouraged to contact the contentious probate team directly.
