Returning for its 3rd year on November 19th, Portcullis Legals in partnership with Plymouth Argyle FC are hosting the “Portcullis Sleep Out” to raise funds for the Shekinah Charity for the homeless and Project 35.
Homelessness and the ramifications of it are what drove us to create this event pre-Covid in 2019 and it has grown year on year.
Any of us are only a dreadful life changing event away from homelessness such as divorce, illness, unemployment, falling out with your family or having your home repossessed. It affects all ages and not everyone is the cliched addict, but sadly homelessness can lead to this.
Businesses should always do good whilst doing business and is proud that this event is now supported by big corporate partners.
Each year the attendance doubles and it is always a long cold night in November, but it is a very humbling experience and keeps everyone very much grounded, particularly the children that attend. We have a strong partnership with Plymouth Argyle and for them to “lend” their stadium to us once a night per year is magnificent.
Even if you cannot attend if you are outside of the southwest, donations can be made via trevorworth@portcullislegals.co.uk.
