
Metamorph: Over 1,000 boxes of wills and deeds yet to be claimed following intervention
It has been revealed that more than 1,000 boxes of wills and deeds are yet to be claimed from those Metamorph firms that were shut down last year following intervention by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority.
An SRA spokesperson told the Law Society Gazette:
“We had more than 1,000 boxes of live matters that the agent needed to deal with by advising the clients to find alternative solicitors.”
Gordons LLP, the SRA’s intervention agent, said it is collecting client files from the firms’ offices for safekeeping and has set up a dedicated web page containing relevant information for clients and employees of affected firms.
Which firms are affected?
A note on Gordons’ website states the following:
MLL Ltd, BPL Solicitors Ltd, Beaumont ABS Ltd & Atray Ltd were closed by the SRA on 14th December 2022. This is called an intervention. Separately, Knowles Benning LLP & Knight Polson Limited were closed by the SRA on 19th December 2022.
These businesses traded under the names below and were all part of Metamorph Group Ltd:
