Legal Eye employee completes 400km cycle for cancer charity

We’re delighted to announce that Rhonda Hales from Legal Eye has successfully completed a charity bike ride, to raise money for a range of women’s cancer charities.

Preparations for the expedition began last year, when Rhonda’s sister encouraged her to get involved in the event.

Throughout the summer, Rhonda has been training in preparation for the bike ride along with 60 other women — some of whom are cancer survivors themselves.

Women of all ages and abilities got involved, with each participant requiring to raise a minimum of nearly £3000 to take part.

Rhonda has previously been involved in a variety of other fundraising projects, including a charity dinner held in March that featured an auction and live band, which raised a total of £7000.

The bike ride took place in Cuba and was organised by the Women V Cancer charity. Other smaller charities are also supported by Women V Charity, including Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

Overall, the 61 women who were involved in the epic 400km journey have raised over £230,000 — an incredible effort to support such a brilliant group of charities.

We have all been affected by cancer in one way or another, and this cycle ride is just one of many inspiring things people are doing to help fight this awful illness.
