The Importance Of A Positive Online Reputation

Reputation has never been more crucial to the success of a business. Unfortunately, a 2018 report looking at over 500 UK companies, conducted by Igniyte, found that a business reputation has never been easier to lose.

The internet has played a huge part in making or breaking a company reputation with 31% of businesses certain that negative content online has already damaged their business.

Negative media coverage, reviews, malicious content posted online by competitors, disgruntled customers or employees has affected 46% of respondents in 2018; this is a 29% increase in the last four years.

Negative reviews are causing 41% of businesses to suffer and 31% feel as though their online reputation has been damaged by social media posts.

Overall, 70 of the 500 firms are adamant that negative online reviews have cost them £50,000 in lost revenue.

With price and service transparency a consumer expectation, maintaining a positive company reputation has never been so important and highlights why your business should become a member of the IPW and ISPW without delay.
