Why you should get involved in Free Wills Month

Tomorrow marks the start of the next Free Wills Month.

Bringing together a selection of charities, the month provides those over the age of 55 with the opportunity to have their wills drafted or amended by a participating professional free of charge.

Running throughout the month of March, the campaign is designed to encourage consumers to write a will and prompt friends and family members to do the same. Taking place annually, the wider aim of the month-long appeal is to highlight the importance of consolidating final wishes as well as to minimise any preconceptions relating to the process in general.

When national campaigns such as this arise it’s vital to make the most of the opportunity.  As well as benefitting prospective clients in your local area, taking part will also boost the awareness of your practice. For example, why not host a coffee morning at your offices or hod another community event to highlight the importance of making a will. Not only does this help to remove the negative stigma around discussing death, but it can also instil a healthier attitude toward planning for the future.

To get involved in the appeal, professionals are encouraged to contact the Free Wills Month team.
