Fraser and Fraser crowned winners as Financial and Professional Services Family Business of the Year at 2025 Awards

Fraser and Fraser, a name associated with professional genealogy and probate research, is immensely proud to announce their win as the Financial and Professional Services Family Business of the Year, at the notable Family Business of the Year Awards 2025. This honour celebrates a century of family dedication, growth and unparalleled expertise in a truly niche industry.

Established in 1923 by Gertrude Christensen, Fraser and Fraser has been a steadfast family-run business for over a century. Now led by Gertrude’s great-nephews, Andrew and Neil Fraser, the firm has grown into one of the world’s leading genealogists and probate researchers, having solved hundreds of thousands of cases. The business saw significant expansion in 1969 under Gertrude’s nephews, Nathan and Simon Fraser.

Today, operating from central London, the firm boasts a robust team of in-house Case Managers, Case Assistants and Researchers, all supported by a vital network of Travelling Senior Researchers and International Case Managers. This collaborative approach ensures that every job is completed with exceptional speed and accuracy.

The Family Business of the Year Awards 2025, once again brought together the very best of British family firms

It was an evening that underscored the essence of belonging to a larger community, the collective sense of pride is being a family business, and the recognition of accomplishments that – for some families – have spanned numerous generations.

As Paul Andrews, Founder and CEO of Family Business United, stated,

“Family businesses are the engine room of the UK economy and with 5 million family firms employing around 15 million people in all corners of the country they make a massive impact each and every day. Incomes are generated, jobs provided, and wealth created.”

Andrew Fraser, partner at Fraser and Fraser, shared his thoughts on the win

“At Fraser and Fraser we are incredibly proud of the work we do in helping families reconnect with their rightful inheritances. For over a century, our success has been driven by the dedication and expertise of our exceptional team – many of whom worked alongside my father and uncle when they were active Partners in the firm.

This award is a tribute to them, and to the enduring strength of our family values, and our commitment to our clients. We are honoured to be recognised by the Family Business Awards and would like to thank the judges and organisers for celebrating the contribution of family-run businesses across the UK.”

Fraser and Fraser extends its sincerest congratulations to all the finalists and winners at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2025. We look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence and serving our clients with the same dedication that has defined us for over a century.
