The deadline to enter the British Wills and Probate Awards 2024, sponsored by CTT Group, is today (Friday 5th July) at midnight. There is a further week’s grace to enable to finalise their submissions before the entry process closes at midnight on Friday 12th July and judging begins.
Firms can enter up three categories per entry with 22 carefully curated categories to choose from. Importantly, much like Today’s Wills and Probate, the awards welcome entries from both the regulated, and unregulated communities, recognising the role both play in this incredibly vibrant sector. There are also categories open to suppliers and technology platforms who provide services to law firms and estate planning businesses.

The British Wills and Probate Awards were launched in 2018 to recognise and celebrate the work of wills, tax, trust, probate and estate planning practitioners up and down the country. Now in their 7th year, they are recognised both within, and outside, the sector as a mark of excellence and expertise.
Its success has in part been attributed to the focus it places on the independence of the event and scrutiny of the entries. David Opie, Managing Director of Today’s Media, the publishers of Today’s Wills and Probate and organisers of the awards says
“From day one every decision we have made has been to further burnish the credentials of the award; it is critical they are regarded as credible and trustworthy. To that end we spend hours poring over the categories and entry criteria each year to ensure they are reflective of this ever changing industry.”
“The judging panel is the epitome of these efforts with the line up regularly refreshed to ensure the independence of the event. Our panel this year is drawn from across the legal services sector and we’re hugely grateful to each and every one of our judges for the time and energy they put into scrutinising the submissions.”
The panel this year is made up of individuals representing law and estate planning firms, regulatory bodies, legal-tech, outsourcing, sales and marketing, leadership and management consultancy, and more. The judging panel for The British Wills and Probate Awards is
Nick Ash, Karen Babington, Ed Barden, David Baskerville, Anthony Belcher, Ian Bond, Sue Carter, Simon Brimage, Jane Cassell, Holly Chantler, Jacqueline Emmerson, Emily Deane, Melinda Giles, Paige Gouldthorpe, Alex Holt, Tasnim Khalid, David Masterton, Matthew Lagden, Barry Mattock, Annam Nasir, David Newick, Dylan O’Brien, Clive Ponder. Lisa Summerton, Aleks Tomczyk, and Chris Whittington.
Following entries closing, the submissions will go to the panel with the shortlist announced w/c 19th August 2024. The ceremony is hosted live in Manchester on 10th October 2024. Tickets for the awards are available now.
