Exizent appoints Co-Managing Directors

Exizent, the platform in estate administration and death notification services has announced the internal promotion of Philip Nairn and Laura McFarlane to become co-Managing Directors of Exizent’s Legal Services Software Business.

Together Laura and Phil will drive forwards Exizent’s leading probate, executry and estate administration software business. The modern, browser accessed SaaS software enables professionals working with probate, executry and estate administration to manage cases from end to end.

In less than five years since the launch of the initial product, the Exizent Legal Services software is in use the length and breadth of the UK with many thousands of inflight cases on the platform – a number that grows every week. Private client teams using the platform range from the small to very large and include some of the most well-known brands in the sector.

Laura is based in the central belt of Scotland and has been with Exizent for four and a half years having joined the day the very first version of the software went out for market testing. She has a customer service and product background in the health and telco sectors. Laura has been Product Owner for the software and Head of Customer Success – leading the team that gets great reviews from users for the support they provide.

Phil is based in Yorkshire and has also been with Exizent for four and a half years, primarily taking the probate software offering to market and liaising with key channel partners. His background is in revenue growth with firms including Lexis Nexis, Google and HSBC. Laura McFarlane, Co-Managing Director, said:

“I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this new role working with Phil. Having just returned from maternity leave in January I was really pleased to see the progress Exizent made in 2024 on product functionality and usage, and loved the customer feedback we got as a result. As co-MD I am really excited to be able to take the reins for the next stage of Exizent’s growth. I am looking forward to building our loyal customer base and launching new product functionality which will continue to make our customers lives easier.”

Phil Nairn, Co-Managing Director, added:

“Laura and I have been working very closely since we both joined Exizent, get on extremely well and have complementary skills and experience. To become co-MDs of Exizent as our products and business move into the next stage of our growth within the Estatesearch Group is a challenge that really energises me. My particular focus will be on the commercial aspects of the business and accelerating growth along with building further on our integrations and the strategic partnerships we have.”

Jonathan Upton, CEO of Estatesearch Group, commented:

“We knew when we acquired Exizent that the business had great products and brand. Since then we have confirmed our previous impression that there would be synergies with Estatesearch and that the business has great people and culture too. We are delighted to give Laura and Phil the opportunity to step up as Managing Directors. I look forward to working with them as we grow Exizent together.”
