Obligatory General Management Costs E-Filing For Deputies

All professional deputies entitled to general management costs will need to use the Court of Protection’s e-filing system from today (Monday 20th January 2020.)

Professional deputies are obliged to send a Bill of Costs, N258 deputy orders through an e-filing system and sent in PDF format.

Professional deputies are required to submit estimates of costs and bills to the Senior Courts Cost Office (SCCO) for assessment.

At the end of a reporting period, all deputies are entitled to reclaim reasonable costs for the work completed. However, this will now require completions using the online format.

Any bills submitted using earlier paper methods from today will be rejected and returned by the SCCO.

Additionally, all payments must be reclaimed via a debit payment facility and all firms must have a PBA as cheques will no longer be made.
