A woman cut her step-children out of their late father’s Will, going against his wishes that they all inherit equally both his wealth and that of their late grandmother, a sum of £300,000.
Lulu Jones, was Roger Jones’ second wife. Roger had four children from a previous marriage and Lulu had two children. All of the parties involved were aware that their parents had decided to write ‘Mirror Wills’ which outlined that Roger’s children and Lulu’s son would be the beneficiaries of the estates. Both Roger and Lulu’s sons were appointed as Executors.
Roger passed away first, leaving his estate to Lulu.
However, when Lulu passed away it was discovered that she had written a new Will, cutting Roger’s children out of their inheritance.
According to a statement from Lulu’s family, Roger had a strained relationship with his children, and it outlined that a parent would want to leave all they had to their own children.
What now could ensue is a lengthy legal battle between the children to make a claim under the Inheritance Act 1975, for reasonable financial provisions.
