In a series of Supporters in Focus pieces, we are thrilled to introduce our sponsor of the Customer Service Champion Award at The British Wills and Probate Awards 2023.
We are delighted to have Exizent on board with the sixth year of The British Wills & Probate Awards and grateful they took the time to answer some of our questions.
First of all, tell us who you are and what you do?
I am Aleks Tomczyk, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Exizent. At Exizent, we take pride in our modern software platform designed to streamline the processes surrounding the unfortunate event of a person’s passing. Our mission is to ease the burden for all involved parties – from individuals and legal/financial professionals to the institutions like banks with ties to the deceased.
In my role, I take lead in enhancing the experience for legal practitioners who play a vital role in helping those left behind to settle estates. By leveraging our modern software platform, we strive to streamline and simplify their tasks, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process during these challenging times. At Exizent, we’re committed to providing innovative solutions that bring peace of mind and support to those dealing with the complexities of handling a loved one’s affairs after their passing.
What made you support the Customer Service Champion category, and what is your message to its shortlisted firms?
The ultimate goals of all those in the wills and probate space, our ‘whys’, are to make it easier for those preparing for the end of their own life and for those they leave behind. The best way to evaluate success is feedback from those directly impacted by the work done by the professionals in our space, namely our customers. This Award is then of utmost importance as the nominees and winner will have achieved great things for customers. By recognising them as Champions, celebrating them, sharing their practices and highlighting the outcomes they attain we set the standards for the rest of the industry and the expectations of future customers.
My message to the shortlisted firms is congratulations, well done, enjoy the evening and keep going!
In your opinion, what are some of the key challenges currently faced by law firms or legal professionals in the industry? How does your company aim to address or mitigate these challenges?
There are many challenges in the wills and probate space people talk about, I will mention two.
Firstly, the challenge of coping with work volumes with ever increasing external pressures including customer expectations, resource/skills shortages, probate service delays and cost pressures. Exizent aims to help meet this challenge by providing software designed with practitioners enabling much more efficient processing of estate administration cases. Time saving sentence.
Secondly, technology adoption is a challenge to many firms given how busy practitioners already are and perceived risks associated with it. We aim to make adoption easy through providing our functionally rich probate software simply in a browser with easy signup, good user interface design, free trials, no installations required, bundled training and a friendly support team. We love getting feedback and ideas from users on what to build next. We also aim to make it easy to use our software alongside existing tech investments, e.g., practice management systems, and have recently unveiled Xperate as a Preferred Customer Integration Partner to help firms with this.
Our goal is to give practitioners the software needed to allow focus on legal advice and delivering excellent customer service – hence sponsoring this award.
How do you envision your company’s role in shaping the future of the legal sector? What impact do you hope to have on the industry?
We publish a piece of research each year called the Bereavement Index which aims to baseline experiences of bereavement. Our primary objective is to witness continuous improvement in our findings year after year.
At our core, we envision ourselves as the essential facilitators, ensuring a more seamless and compassionate experience for individuals navigating the challenges of dealing with the loss of a loved one, alongside the dedicated professionals who assist them. Our ultimate goal is to act as the data and software “plumbing” that collaborates with other stakeholders to drive this transformative change. While individuals may not be aware of the direct assistance we provide, the impact will be felt systematically, enhancing the overall process in meaningful ways.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to make a difference, easing the burdens and complexities that come with these difficult times.
