The 7th edition of The British Wills and Probate Awards will be delivered as a hybrid event, on Thursday 10th October 2024, with an in-person ceremony hosted by Ben Hanlin at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, with returning headline sponsor CTT Group.
The awards are brought to you by Today’s Media, the publishers of the popular online news title Today’s Wills and Probate. Through the publication we continue to observe and narrate the stories and achievements of professionals from around the sector.
Today’s Wills and Probate is dedicated to providing the independent view from across the regulated and unregulated sectors, championing the industry and providing a hub for our community of readers.
Industry leaders have commented on the upcoming awards as they draw closer saying it’s a ‘tense time’ as the shortlist is set to be announced.
CTT Director of Partnerships, Jonathan Maskew commented: “As this year’s BWAP awards draw closer, it’s a tense time – waiting to find out who will make the shortlist, which will be announced soon!”
“With so many talented practitioners in the field, the judges have a tough job on their hands. 2024 has been an exciting year for the sector and will certainly make for an interesting competition. It’s an honour to once again be headline sponsors for the event and I for one am eager to learn who the main contenders will be!”
A headline sponsor is looking forward to his seat on the judges panel, calling the appointment a ‘privilege’.
CTT Director, Clive Ponder TEP said: “It’s an absolute pleasure and a privilege to once again be headline sponsors. The BWAP Awards recognise the very best in our industry and having the honour of being a judge this year, I’ve seen firsthand the talent and dedication, and the heights of achievement this industry can reach.”
“Huge congratulations to all those who’ve been shortlisted for the awards. I look forward with great enthusiasm to the 2024 winners being announced at this year’s event in Manchester in October.”
Last year was the sixth year of celebrating the Wills and Probate sector to recognise “excellence”. Last year the event was also sponsored by CTT Group, with over 700 people attending either in person, or virtually.
Hosted for the first time in Manchester the attendance was nearly double that of 2022, held in Birmingham, as 450 practitioners packed out The Ballroom at The Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on the evening of Wednesday 11th October. Across 26 hotly contested categories the British Wills and Probate Awards uniquely recognises the individuals and organisations across the solicitor, will-writing and probate communities.
The evening began with the awards, which were simultaneously live streamed via The British Wills and Probate Awards website. You can review the recording of the evening here. The evening then moved on to host the Networking Reception, sponsored by Exizent, Dinner, and After-Party sponsored by Estatesearch.
Last years attendees are looking forward to the event, with the night hailed as a ‘fantastic industry event’.
“The BWAP Awards are always a fantastic industry event,” says Maskew. “It’s an excellent opportunity for those within the wills and probate sector to come together, socialise, network, and celebrate the achievements of fellow professionals, so why not join us?! Last year’s event at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Manchester, was a huge success and it’s sure to be again – a come along and be a part of a truly memorable evening.”
“The very best of luck to all those who’ve been shortlisted for an award at this year’s BWAPs,” says CTT Managing Director, Andrew Houston, “It’s an honour to be headline sponsors of an event that does so much to recognise and celebrate talented individuals within our industry. Making the shortlist is a tremendous achievement, and I wish those nominated every success at this year’s awards.”
