To me to who? Beloved Comedian Barry Chuckle Dies aged 73

Barry Chuckle, one half of the Chuckle Brothers comedy duo, and stalwart of children’s television, has tragically died at the age of 73.

Immortalised in the hearts of multiple generations, Barry Chuckle was best known for the television show ‘Chuckle Vision,’ which paired Barry’s dimwitted character against the often-naïve wit and intelligence of brother Paul.

The series ran for 22 years, airing 21 series and making 292 classic episodes in the process. Starting the show in 1985, the pair continued to make canonical children’s television until 2009.

Following iconic catchphrases such as “from me to you” and “silly you, silly me,” the pair were able to expand their brand and branch into a range of other media formats, including the 1995 classic music album ‘From me to you.’

Paul Chuckle, brother of Barry, commented: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.”

Losing such a distinguished and irreplaceable theatrical partner will be a clear loss to Paul. According to IdolNetWorth.com, Barry chuckle is worth an astonishing £20 million. A small price to pay for warming a nation’s heart for over fifty years.

The death will be a further professional loss to Paul as the pair were currently filming a new series for channel 5 entitled ‘Chuckle Time.’ Because of a rigorous schedule, Barry’s health deteriorated and filming was postponed until his health improved. Following a distinguished career, Paul has invested in property all over the world and will grieve the brother and best friend as opposed to lost business opportunities.

The news was announced by Barry’s manager, Phil Dale. He said: It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.

“The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel.”

Although ‘Chuckle Vision’ aired its final episode in 2009, the scenes of two inept but well-intentioned fools overcoming each episode’s manipulative bully, will resonate eternally with swarms of British society, both young and old.
