SFE National Conference 2023

This year’s Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) National Conference 2023 takes place on Thursday 22nd June at Kings Place in London. Spice Up Your Life will see attendees delve into the life of Andy, a colourful character who certainly lived life to the full!

After his sudden and unexpected death, his family are hoping he’s created a will and turn to their local SFE solicitor for help. As well as being asked to think about how they’d approach the scenario and their considerations, attendees will be guided through different aspects of the case study by four expert speakers.

This year’s line-up includes:

  • Caroline Bielanska, Consultant Solicitor and Mediator, who will guide attendees through capacity issues associated with case
  • Charlotte John, Barrister at Gatehouse Chambers, will be delving into the 1975 Act Claims
  • Gill Steel, Legal Trainer, will explore Trusts
  • Rebecca Sheldon, Barrister at Old Square Tax Chambers, will guide attendees through Andy’s estate, taking a look at tax issues and how a will can be drafted to avoid them becoming a problem

Registration opens at 9am with coffee being served before SFE Chair, formally Michael Culver opens the event, which will run from 9.30am until 5pm. This will be followed by a drinks reception which concludes at 6pm.
