Rob Rinder heads probate industry’s annual awards in 2022

Rob Rinder, criminal barrister and television personality will host the 2022 Probate Research Awards in person – otherwise known as ‘The Probies’ – on 28 April 2022 at the One Great George Street in Westminster, London.

With 2022 being the fourth year of the Probies – now featuring 14 key categories – the initiative highlights achievements and examples of excellence across forensic genealogy or ‘heir hunting’ as an invaluable public service to local authorities and the wider legal industry.  The Awards, sponsored by AVIVA, will also uncover the most engaging stories of human interest – often harrowing accounts of family sagas through moments across history.

Geoffrey Odds, company secretary of the International Association of Professional Probate Researchers and Genealogists (IAPPR) commented:

“Over the course of the pandemic to date, probate research has played an extraordinarily important role in supporting councils and the legal profession as a whole, piecing together families at a time of national crisis – and it’s the best of the best we will look to recognise.”

Created by Meerkat PR, the public relations firm, in recognition of the role probate research plays in generating powerful stories of national interest, additional sponsors of The Probies include Finders International, the global heir hunting firm with a regular presence on BBC’s Heir Hunters, the National Association of Licenced Paralegals (NALP), Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and Tower Street Finance.

Nominations for entries close on Friday 26 November 2021
