One of the top-donating firms during Will Aid 2025 raised £21,352 for the annual charity campaign, which encourages firms invite clients to make a donation to charity in lieu of paying their solicitor writing a basic will.
Penn Chambers Solicitors, in Austin Friars, has supported Will Aid since 2021, raising £42,627 for Will Aid’s partner charities, which carry out work across a range of causes from humanitarian aid to protecting vulnerable children and those facing hardship in the UK.
The campaign runs every November and offers people a professionally written will in exchange for a donation. The suggested donation is £120 for a basic single will and £200 for a pair of basic mirror wills, with all proceeds supporting Will Aid’s partner charities: Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, NSPCC, SCIAF (Scotland), Shelter, and Trócaire (Northern Ireland).
Speaking about their donation, Emma Aslett from Penn Chambers said: “Will Aid is always a highlight for us – it’s a chance to do something positive for both our clients and the wider community.
“Helping people put the right plans in place while also raising money for important charities makes it a really worthwhile initiative, and we’re proud to have been involved again this year.”
Since its launch in 1988, Will Aid has raised more than £26 million in donations, with millions more pledged in charitable legacies thanks to the generosity of participating solicitors.
