The National Paralegal Awards, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) and the Professional Paralegal Register (PPR), is now open for entry celebrating the very best paralegals across the UK and the businesses that support them.
Now in its fifth year, the awards aims to reflect the diversity of the paralegal role with a range of categories open to both individuals and businesses; including “Best Law Firm – paralegal development”, “National Paralegal of the Year”, “Best Conveyancing and Real Estate Paralegal”, “Best Will Writing Organisation”, and the “National Paralegal Business of the Year.”
Entries close on 26th May at 5pm. Finalists will be announced on 7th July 2023 with the winners taking centre stage at the awards ceremony hosted at Grand Hotel in Birmingham on Thursday 14th September 2023.
Linda Ford CEO of CILEX, which acquired the Institute of Paralegals and the PPR earlier this year, said:
“Paralegals play a vital role in the delivery of legal services and we want to recognise their hard work and achievements, as well as showcasing the organisations that help the paralegal profession thrive.
We are delighted to be hosting the awards for the first time and celebrating those who are doing great work across the variety of specialisms and roles which make up the paralegal profession.”
This year’s headline sponsor is the Right Legal Group, an Alternative Business Structure established in 2014 solely specialising in wills and probate law.
Carrie Caladine, Managing Director, said:
“I am so delighted that we are this year’s headline sponsors of the National Paralegal Awards. We have championed the role of the professional paralegal since we set up our business and have taken an active role in supporting the growth of paralegals in legal businesses across England and Wales. The awards provide us with a much-needed opportunity to celebrate and recognise the achievements of those that play such a vital role in the industry.”
Esperanza Fuentes, Ombudsman Manager at the Financial Ombudsman Service, will be heading up the independent judging panel, which is made up of highly regarded business and legal professionals. Esperanza said:
“I am delighted to be involved with this years’ National Paralegal Awards. This is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the achievements of paralegals in the UK and to reward paralegals for their outstanding contributions to the legal sector. I urge all paralegals to apply, and I look forward to reading your entries.”
