Legal Eye Director Passes ISO27001 Exam With Flying Colours

Legal Eye’s Director of Business Development, Jody Evans, has become a qualified ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Lead Implementer.

Jody passed the stringent examination with flying colours; becoming one of only a handful of people ever to have passed the course with a score of 100%.

Scott Lloyd, Tutor at BSI said: “We were delighted to welcome Jody on to our ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Lead Implementer course and are pleased that she was successful in passing the examination with 100%. This demonstrates both her and the company’s commitment to information resilience.

“During this course delegates learn about the requirements for establishing, implementing and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS), enabling them to play a pivotal role in ensuring their organisation can set up an ISMS that is compliant to ISO/IEC 27001:2013.”

The achievement strengthens Legal Eye’s ability to support law firms across the UK in setting up, maintaining and developing robust information security systems and standards that protect the firm from risk.

Legal Eye’s team, including Jody, offers support to firms looking to achieve accreditation to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (ISO 27001). This is the international standard that describes the requirements for an ISMS (information security management system).

Achieving accreditation to ISO 27001 provides firms with an independent, expert assessment that information security is managed in line with international best practice and business objectives.

With increasing numbers of law firms looking to ensure that they comply with all aspects of information security Jody is now undertaking a further course which will qualify her to become a Lead Auditer for the standard.

Legal Eye Managing Director Paul Saunders said: “The issue of information security in general is high on the agendas of law firms at the moment. From new data security regulations to heightened awareness about the possibility of criminals targeting the firm, this is an area where firms are quite rightly looking to protect themselves. Whether it’s the risk of cyber attacks or simply the possibility of someone making a mistake; firms simply cannot risk being accused of not keeping data safely and securely. The potential impact to a firm’s reputation and the potential financial and commercial implications are too significant to ignore.

“Jody’s hard work and commitment in achieving such a fantastic result shows how committed she is to the issue and Legal Eye are pleased to have been able to support her, and the rest of the ISO27001 implementation and audit team, by investing in this training. We will continue to do so in order to give our clients the very best quality advice and support.”
