Lancaster will writer’s 10,000 feet skydive raises £2,500 for cancer charity

A Lancaster businesswoman took a 10,000 feet plunge over an African desert for a charity which helped her through the loss of her husband.

Nicola Combe, director of Morecambe Bay Wills & Estates, did a skydive over the dunes of Namibia just before Christmas to raise funds for CancerCare. Nicola set up Morecambe Bay Wills & Estates because she wanted to help others who are dealing with family tragedy after her husband Jim died from cancer.

The charity provided invaluable support to Jim during his illness and continued to help Nicola in the wake of his passing. Nicola’s skydiving challenge came on the heels of her company already raising a whopping £18,000 for CancerCare.

After a delay due to Covid, Nicola finally got to complete her jump on December 19 2023, raising £2,500 (with the gift aid) from the daring venture, bringing the total Morecambe Bay Wills has raised for CancerCare, to more than £20,000. Morecambe Bay Wills & Estates provides will writing services to families across Lancashire and North Cumbria.

The company donates 5% of the proceeds for wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney to CancerCare as a thank you for the support they gave to Nicola and Jim,
