Kings Court Trust, one of the UK’s leading estate administration specialists, has played a key role in the creation of a new probate apprenticeship that aims to provide increased career opportunities for young people within the legal services sector.
As part of the Government’s aim to develop additional apprenticeship opportunities, Andrea Pierce, Legal Services Director at Kings Court Trust, has been heavily involved in a ‘Trailblazer’ working party representing the estate administration and probate industry. The group, made up of leading figures from across the legal sector, have recently had their framework for a new probate apprenticeship approved by the Government and was one of 59 new frameworks approved by David Cameron in August.
The Government’s Trailblazer initiative began with eight industry groups in October 2013 and has grown substantially in recent years, with over 140 working groups now in place. Between them, they have collectively delivered or are in the process of delivering over 350 apprenticeship frameworks covering various industries.
The diverse mix of careers supported by the latest frameworks is clear to see, with jobs from nuclear engineering to personal training covered in the latest release of standards. The frameworks will aim to ensure that apprentices have the specialist skills required to forge successful careers in their chosen field, whilst also ensuring that employer’s needs are met through the development of a highly skilled workforce.
Speaking about the launch of the probate apprenticeship framework, Andrea Pierce commented: “It has been a highly rewarding opportunity to be part of the Trailblazer working party. Kings Court Trust was delighted to be involved throughout a process that should equip the next generation of estate administration and probate specialists with the skills they need to succeed in this sector.
