Government to legislate for changes to charity law, easing the burden on ILM members

ILM Director appointed to Wills and Equity Committee

The Insititue of Legacy Management (ILM) has announced the appointment of Director Blerta Clubb to the Law Society’s Wills and Equity Committee.

Blerta is a highly experienced legacy professional, and successfully won ILM’s Legacy Professional of the Year award in 2019 to recognise her passion, hard work and achievements within the sector.

Speaking of the appointment, Blerta said:

“I’m incredibly honoured to be given the opportunity to join the Law Society’s Wills and Equity Committee and that my experiences in legacy management have been recognised. I’m a qualified solicitor, head of legacies at Save the Children UK, and have worked within the charity sector for over a decade. I see the challenges first hand that legacy professionals face in their daily roles and I hope to bring my learnings to the Law Society with a fresh perspective.

“I joined ILM, as a director, in 2019 to promote best practice across the industry which has worked closely with the Law Society on many occasions. By representing both I will have the platform to ensure legacy professionals’ voices can be heard and that we continue to collaborate closely to ensure that the testator’s wishes are carried out in the most efficient way.”

ILM is the membership body for legacy professionals working in charities across the UK. You can find out more about ILM and the work it does here.
