Free interactive webinar: Trusts and Probate: Updates on major changes in Private Client practice

Fraser and Fraser host free interactive webinar with guest speaker John D. Bunker LL.B CTA TEP, freelance lecturer and Consultant Solicitor/Chartered Tax Adviser, Tax Trusts and Estates at Irwin Mitchell, to discuss recent updates on major changes in Trusts and Probate within Private Client practice.

The discussion will include:
• New regulations that took effect on Tuesday 6 Oct 2020, with implications for both new and existing trusts, including some co-ownership of property and many will trusts;
• Changes to 4MLD: the new rules for registering updates & the new annual declaration;
• Probate applications: Applying for probate online will be compulsory for many cases from 2 Nov 2020: what is happening with the new process and with HMRC, including changes in August e.g. Clearance applications and changes for complex estates on TRS.

John chairs CIOT’s Private Client (UK) Committee, represents STEP on HMCTS Probate Group, and sits on HMRC’s Capital Taxes Liaison Group and TRS 5 MLD sub-group. He has 30 years of experience specialising in wills, trusts, estate and tax planning, and developed external training work, seeking to illuminate technical details with practical insight.
