The College of Will Writing

The College of Will Writing (CWW) is the training arm for the Society of Will Writers (SWW).

For over 24 years the College of Will Writing has been providing training courses for thousands of people who are considering Will Writing either as an add-on to their existing business or as a new career opportunity.

Very few, if any of the larger organisations provide entry-level courses, but it is an area that the CWW specialises in and the courses are widely recognised.

Our most popular course is the three-day Induction SWWEPP Certificate Course, and with the additional optional fourth day introduction to IHT and Will Trusts, provide an intensive, plain English style course designed to get you started, delivered in a formal way in an informal environment.

Competitively priced, it introduces students to Will Writing in a classroom environment, with opportunities to ask direct questions of the various tutors who deliver the course. It is also useful for anyone who is considering a career change to attend the course and see whether it really is for them. The program the CWW operates in association with the SWW is designed as an earn-while-you-learn experience. Becoming a member of the SWW ensures that you do not lose that enthusiasm, and you can feel safe in the knowledge that there is always help available.

The College, also on the back of the course, offers practical help when getting started offering a range of options for anyone new into the profession and starting their own business.

The course is held at least once a month, and so far, this year by the beginning of August we have already held 9, four-day courses, such is the demand.

In 2013 demand was continuing to grow for training, and to meet this demand the SWW took out a lease on the building to the rear of Chancery House, and converted it to a seminal and presentation hall, the main training suite which also includes a computer suite where we train on the use of software generated Wills, in particular our own software – Sure Will Writer – Professional Will Suite. The building also contains its own ‘bistro’ area for lunches and break out groups, as well as private meeting rooms. We have also invested in a new kitchen and a fully functional serving area, where we offer a range of hot and cold meals throughout the courses.

At the beginning of April 2018, the CWW launched its all new distance learning course, using LMS technology, we have designed it to give students as near a class room experience as we can, with more services to come before the end of the year. Since its soft launch, the CWW has attracted more students than any year in the past to this method of training. As well having students in the UK who, for personal reasons cannot attend a four-day course away from family or work, and we have students in Hong Kong, Singapore, Cayman Islands, Pakistan, Malaysia and Cyprus.

With an increasing demand from people looking to improve their lifestyle, the Society and the College are continuing to invest further in the future, in education, support, software, technical help, local and regional groups, annual conferences and employment in Lincoln.

Our record and reputation speaks for itself, over 24 years working with our members and supporting them and ensuring that we source the best products, services and providers that are available in the market to.
