Best Foundation launches campaign to challenge pre-paid probate

The Best Foundation has launched a campaign to “challenge pre-paid probate”. Here’s what they had to say on the campaign, which is open to practitioners within the estate planning sector.

Before pre-paid funeral plans were regulated, 47,000 Safe Hands customers suffered losses of £3000 on average. Unfortunately, history seems set to repeat itself with pre-paid probate packages. As an unregulated product, customers’ money is currently being put at risk.

The Best Foundation is committed to preventing the same devastating news from crossing headlines again, for the benefit of both customers and the reputation of the whole sector.

They feel it is their duty to raise awareness of the inherent problems with pre-paid probate and hope that you will support them.

As practitioners in the estate planning sector, the Best Foundation are calling upon you to join their campaign to challenge pre-paid probate and help protect customers.

They plan to submit an open letter signed by as many practitioners as possible to HM Treasury, the Financial Conduct Authority, Trading Standards, and the Ministry of Justice calling for an investigation into pre-paid probate and the firms providing it.
