Arken.legal appoints three new hires following switch to four-day working week

Arken.legal, experts in digital estate planning solutions, has made three new hires, just two months after the successful introduction of a four-day working week.

Beth Crease has been appointed as Senior Marketing Manager, Tiffany Pocock comes on board as Marketing Manager and Raj Patel joins as Technical Project Manager.

As Senior Marketing Manager Beth, who specialises in IT and SaaS, has more than 10 years’ experience within the sector, will develop and lead Arken.legal’s marketing strategy. Beth’s previous roles include marketing manager at Acora – Managed IT Services, where she was responsible for improving SERP and utilising SEO and digital campaigns to drive conversion, and most recently, marketing manager at Totara Learning Inc, a cloud-based SaaS learning management systems firm.

Tiffany, who joins Arken.legal from specialist performance floors firm Harlequin Floors, will work alongside Beth in a more operational role. Together, they will create and implement a digital marketing strategy that ensures existing and potential clients know about Arken.legal’s great offer.

Raj will be responsible for planning, monitoring, controlling, and executing projects. He has extensive experience as a project manager, having previously held senior roles at Motorola Mobility and Harman Connected Services, where he was Project Manager for key clients including VW and JLR.

In July, following a secret nine-month trial, Arken.legal introduced a four-day working week. Full-time employees have Fridays off but maintain the same level of output – and get paid the same – as they did before, and all three new hires say the four-day week was a key factor in their decision to join the Kent-based firm.

Beth said:

“I am really impressed with Arken.legal’s level of innovation in the digital wills and estate planning space.  I was also really drawn to the firm by its culture – Arken.legal clearly cares deeply about the wellbeing of its people, and this people-centric approach – a big part of which is the four-day week – was a crucial factor in my decision to join.”

Tiffany added:

“The role at Arken.legal really stood out – it is great opportunity for me to make my mark, while the four-day week is a breath of fresh air. I feel it will really help keep motivation levels up and reward employees on a weekly basis for their hard work – something other companies forget to do!”

Raj agrees, he said:

“Arken.legal is a real pioneer in this sector so it is an exciting place to be, while switching to a four-day week is an opportunity not to be missed – I am looking forward to having more time to focus on personal development and spend time with family.”

Dave Newick, CEO at Arken.legal says he is delighted that, despite the pandemic, Arken.legal is still in a position to recruit, and that Beth, Raj and Tiffany’s appointments are all crucial to Arken.legal’s long term growth strategy.

He said:

“The pandemic has been difficult for most businesses and for us, it has also been the catalyst for positive change. When the first lockdown was imposed, it was hard to know how working from home would actually work – not only did it prove we could be just as productive remotely, but it also highlighted the importance of a good work life balance to overall wellbeing and job satisfaction. This experience cemented our decision to trial the four-day working week and the results were better than we could have imagined. Our people are happier, and as a business, we are more productive so are able to offer clients an even better level of service than before. This has in turn enabled us to win more business, so now we need to recruit more great people to allow us to grow even further.

“We are therefore delighted to be able to welcome Beth, Tiffany and Raj to the business. Raj has excellent project management experience within SaaS, while between them, Beth and Tiffany have an exceptional track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, so I am confident all three will be huge assets to the business as we move into the next phase of growth”
