IPW Easing The Inheritance Tax Burden

IPW Easing The Inheritance Tax Burden

Do you feel confident advising clients on how to best combat inheritance tax? Are you up to date with the myriad of multifaceted and complex issues pertaining to estate taxation?

In the year when inheritance tax reached record figures of £5.2 billion, an increase of 8% when compared with figures from 2015-2016, it is clear that the UK public are desperate to find practical solutions to reduce the amount owed.

HMRC data has revealed that inheritance tax has increased exponentially since 2009-2010; the most recent figures indicating that 4.2% of UK deaths were liable to pay inheritance tax, a 0.3% increase of the year previous.

Additionally, 24,500 estates paid inheritance tax in the last year at an average cost of £179,000 to the estate.

Statistics like these highlight the importance of understanding inheritance tax law and estate taxation.

The IPW are pleased to offer an ‘Introduction to Estate Taxation’ course at the IBIS Styles Hotel (NEC) in Birmingham on Tuesday 30th October.

People that have worked hard to own their property feel anxious about the thought of losing a massive 40% to inheritance tax. It is therefore imperative that legal service providers, like IPW and ISPW members, are able to discuss their tax position and adeptly offer solutions.

Within the course you will learn more about IHT and important strategies which could save your clients substantial amounts of money.

Furthermore, the course will delve deeper into issues surrounding Capital Gains Tax (CGT). Whilst others may spend their time navigating IHT solutions, you could use a grounding in CGT to help creatively advise your clients on their tax position. This could help in issues around family home ownership transfer or multiple property solutions.

To ensure that you are competent and confident in helping our clients with their inheritance tax, estate taxation and afterlife planning, this course will solidify your understanding and help to set you apart from the competition.
