Comedian and entertainer Jason Manford is the host for the British Wills and Probate Awards 2026, sponsored by Arken.Legal. The awards will take place at Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on 8th October.
The awards are now in their ninth year and host over 450 professionals at a glittering awards ceremony and dinner. Since launching in 2018 the awards have recognised the endeavours of individuals, firms and business up and down the country, uniquely championing both the unregulated and regulated private client legal communities.
Manford joins an illustrious line up of hosts across the years, including former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond and magician and comedian Ben Hanlin.
A nationally loved comedian, actor and presenter, Manford’s career began when a performer didn’t arrive for an evening set and the 17 year old stepped in to fill the gap – entertaining the nation ever since. From 8 Out of 10 Cats to The Masked Singer, Children in Need, Big Night of Musicals and more, Manford brings warmth, wit and a genuine connection with audiences across the UK.
Dubbed the ‘Oscars of the probate world’, the awards are a firm favourite in the legal calendar. Organised by Today’s Media, publishers of Today’s Wills and Probate, they are recognised by professionals and the public alike as a mark of excellence, a stamp of credibility for successful firms who showcase their success on their websites, socials, newsletters and emails.
The judging panel, made up of professionals from across the private client sector, have scrutinised each entry to arrive at the final shortlists, announced on Friday 21st August. Tickets for this flagship event are released at the same time, with individual, half table and full table options.
The awards evening offers firms the opportunity to spend time with peers in a relaxed if competitive forum, with extensive networking and social opportunities. Whether up for an award or simply keen to make the most of the opportunity to connect with professionals from around the sector, the British Wills and Probate Awards offers the best of both worlds.
Today’s Media has also expressed thanks to the sponsors of this year’s event. Headline Sponsor Arken.Legal returns, having sponsored in 2025 and been the inaugural sponsor in 2018. Property Solutions Group, incorporating Southey & Co, is also back as the evening after party and entertainment sponsor.
The welcome drinks sponsor is Chancery Valuations and the category sponsors are Superlawyer, Currencies Direct, CLS, The Estate Registry, Golding Young, The Society of Will Writers, Zedra, WillSuite, CILEX, Ochresoft, LEAP Estates, Finders International, Property Ladder Group, Provira, Fraser and Fraser, Ampla Finance, Move With Us, Minerva, CTT Group, and HAIG Legal Group.
