The speaker line up for the annual Association of Lifetime Lawyers conference has been announced, with Caroline Bielanska, Professor Lesley King and Alexa Payet all on the schedule.

The conference, which will be held at London’s Shaw Theatre (pictured) on the 16th June, will focus on a case study outlining a series of circumstances, with delegates challenged to identify the most appropriate advice and insights into the legal challenges that arise. This year’s case study is entitled The Best Is Yet To Come and features the fictitious main character Eleanor Rigby.

In the scenario, 60-year-old Eleanor is determined to live her best life despite complicated personal circumstances of a missing husband, new partner, disabled adult daughter and 90-year-old mother. The case study raises key themes of asset protection, succession planning, capacity, lasting powers of attorney, wills, and the potential impact of a new legal relationship on existing trusts and family dynamics.

Delegates will take part in interactive discussions throughout the day, debating the twists and turns of Eleanor’s case while exploring best practices for private client lawyers.

Commenting on the day, Lakshmi Turner, CEO of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, said:

“Our national conference is a standout moment for private client practitioners to come together, share expertise and tackle the complex, real-world issues that shape our work.

“’The Best Is Yet To Come’ has been designed to challenge and inspire, encouraging delegates to think deeply about the legal and personal dimensions of later life planning.

“With such a distinguished panel of speakers, this year’s event promises meaningful discussion, practical takeaways and invaluable opportunities to connect with peers from across the profession.”
