Surge In Probate Applications

Surge In Probate Applications

The number of probate applications being received by HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) have exceeded the number of those being issued.

The Government has brought in extra staff to deal with this surge in demand. Existing employees have been upskilled, and new staff members have been recruited in a bid to clear the backlog.

Recent figures have revealed that 4,329 grants were issued last week, with an average turn around time of five to six weeks.

  1. Who are they kidding? Applied end of March and still not been granted. The agent I am using tells me she has stacks not granted.
