UK Probate Research Awards 2019: Winners Announced

A global first, The UK Probate Research Awards 2019 took place on Thursday 7 February in London with winners announced from across the UK, and internationally.

Presented by the BBC’s Nikki Bedi, the winning companies and individuals include:

 

Best Probate Law Firm, Scotland: McClures Solicitors

 

Best Probate Law Firm, North of England: Ramsdens Solicitors 

 

Best Probate Law Firm, Central England: Blake Morgan 

 

Best Probate Law Firm, South England:  Coole Bevis Solicitors

 

Best Probate Law Firm, South East & London: Blandy & Blandy

 

Best International Probate Researcher:  Ryan Gregory of Finders International

 

Best Property Clearance Firm: Just Clear

 

Best Probate Research Paralegal: Katie Watson of Finders International

 

Best Probate Deputyship Firm: Professional Deputies 

 

Best Human Interest Story – the case of Barbara Williams: Amy Cox (Finders International) and Lawrence Taylor representing the beneficiaries.

 

Best Community Contribution:  David Lockwood of Finders International

 

Best Probate Research Insurance Provider: Aviva Legal Indemnities

 

Outstanding Achievement in International Probate Research: Jan-Mathis Holstein from GEN, Germany.

 

Best UK Probate Research Firm: Finders international 

 

The Awards, created by Meerkat PR, supported by Aviva Legal Indemnities and the National Association of Licenced Paralegals (NALP), gives recognition to probate research as a profession, which also provides a constant stream of engaging news stories, while providing an invaluable public service.

Age UK, the UK’s largest charity supporting older people, and the Dania Scandinavian School in London benefited from nearly £1000 raised from the silent auction.

Directors at the industry body, the International Association of Professional Probate Researchers, Genealogists & Heir Hunters (IAPPR) commented:  “We praise the awards not only for recognising excellent work across the UK, but also for initiating a global first in probate research.  The Awards also raises the profile of a fascinating industry in which to work, providing rich career paths.”
